What foods help breast milk secretion? Check out these types of foods!
Our country attaches great importance to breastfeeding because breast milk can provide comprehensive nutrition for babies, while enhancing immunity, promoting intellectual development, and reducing the risk of obesity in adulthood. However, some women are troubled by insufficient milk production. Daily diet can be used to stimulate milk secretion.
So, what foods can help breast secretion?
1. Soup
Postpartum nutrition support should be strengthened and soup intake should be increased to stimulate milk secretion. The daily amount of water you drink should reach 2000 ml, and drink more liquid foods such as tofu soup, ribs soup, pig’s trotters soup, crucian carp soup and chicken soup. In addition to drinking soup, meat should also be eaten to meet the nutritional needs of the mother and baby. The ingredients for soup should be low-fat meat, such as ribs, skinless chicken, lean meat and fish. In addition, you can also choose millet soup or rice soup, vegetable soup, tofu soup or egg drop soup. Foods with lactation-promoting effects should be added to the soup, such as papaya, pig’s trotters, and soybeans.
2. Fish maw
Fish maw is a food made from dried fish maw. It is a typical low-fat, high-protein food and is not likely to cause obesity. Fish maw amino acids are highly hydrophilic, and the soup produced has a viscous texture and a good taste. It is suitable for weak postpartum women and helps digestion. Although fish maw contains a large amount of protein, its amino acid composition is different from that of protein in the body. It lacks important amino acids and cannot provide the body with the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients it needs.
3. Multigrain rice
Red beans and millet both have lactation-stimulating effects and can also be eaten as staple food. Most whole grains and legumes are rich in nutrients, including potassium, iron, zinc, magnesium and vitamin B1, which can improve milk quality. This food also contains a lot of dietary fiber, which can help control weight and avoid constipation.
4. Milk, soy milk
Milk, soy milk and multigrain porridge can also stimulate milk secretion and provide necessary nutrients for milk. Lactating mothers should drink 500 grams of milk or yogurt every day, and their daily protein intake should be increased by 25 grams, which is equivalent to one boiled egg + 10 grams of fish + half a bowl of rice + 250 grams of milk.
In order to increase the amount and quality of milk secretion, in addition to the mother’s adequate nutrition, the baby’s sucking must also be strengthened. When the baby sucks the nipple, it can stimulate the pituitary gland to secrete prolactin and increase milk secretion. At the same time, you also need to adjust your emotions. Due to physiological and environmental factors, breastfeeding mothers have large mood swings, and may experience depression, bad temper, etc., which will affect milk secretion, so they should actively regulate their emotions.
