The first symptom of gastric cancer
The characteristics of stomach cancer is growth of cancerous cells within the lining of the stomach. It is also known gastric cancer, this type of cancer is difficult to diagnose because most people typically don’t show symptoms in the earlier stages.
Although stomach cancer is comparatively rare as compared to other types of cancer, one of the biggest dangers of this disease is the difficulty of diagnosing it. What causes stomach cancer
Stomach is just one part of the upper section of digestive tract. The task of the Stomach is digesting food and then moving the nutrients along to the rest of digestive organs, namely the small and large intestines.
Stomach cancer happens when normally healthy cells within the upper digestive system become cancerous and grow in large quantity i.e. out of control, forming a tumor. This process happens slowly. Stomach cancer tends to develop over many years.
Signs and Symptoms of stomach cancer
Typically there are no early signs or symptoms of stomach cancer. Unfortunately, this means that people generally don’t know whether anything is wrong until the cancer has reached an advanced stage.The signs and symptoms of stomach cancer includes the following:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Frequent heartburn or indigestion
- Poor appetite or loss of appetite, which is sometimes followed by the sudden weight loss
- Constant bloating
- Early satiety i.e. feeling of fullnesseven after eating only a small amount
- Blood in the stool
- Jaundice
- Too much fatigue
- Stomach ache, which may be worse after meals
- Abdominal (belly) pain
- Usually above the navel,Vague discomfort in the abdomen,
- Low red blood cell count (anemia)
Most of the above symptoms are more likely to be caused by diseases other than cancer, such as a stomach virus or an ulcer. They may also happen with other types of cancer. But people who have any of these problems, especially if they don’t go away or get worse, should check with their doctor so that the cause can be found and treated.
