Pharmacological effects
This product is a salicylic acid drug. Two molecules of 5-aminosalicylic acid are connected through an azo bond. After reaching the colon, the azo bridge is broken under the action of bacteria, decomposing into two molecules of 5-aminosalicylic acid and acting on the inflammatory mucosa of the colon, inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis. Inhibits the formation of inflammatory mediators leukotrienes, reduces the permeability of intestinal wall cell membranes, and reduces intestinal mucosal edema.
